Battery types we can assess
Different battery chemistries require different handling. Tell us what you have, the approximate quantity and your city so we can assess the suitable next step and current service availability.
Lithium-ion batteries
Rechargeable batteries from phones, laptops, power tools, e-bikes and other electronics.
Lead-acid batteries
Automotive, inverter, UPS and industrial batteries that need a dedicated recovery route.
Portable batteries
Common household formats, including alkaline and rechargeable AA, AAA, C, D and 9V batteries.
Battery packs
Larger or specialised packs assessed individually for safe movement and downstream handling.
How battery collection works
- Identify the batteries. Share photos, labels, chemistry, quantity and condition where possible.
- Check for damage. Tell us immediately about swelling, leaking, heat, punctures or fire damage.
- Agree on the pathway. We confirm whether collection or another suitable drop-off route is available.
- Prepare safely. Follow the handling instructions provided for the specific battery type.
Safe storage before collection
Keep batteries dry and away from heat. Protect exposed terminals with non-conductive tape, keep loose batteries separated and do not place batteries in general household waste. Damaged, leaking, swollen or hot batteries need extra care and should be isolated from combustible materials.
If a battery is smoking, extremely hot or on fire, move away from the area and contact local emergency services. Do not handle it as a routine collection.
Frequently asked questions
Can batteries go into ordinary recycling bins?
No. Batteries can create fire and contamination risks when placed in mixed waste or ordinary recycling bins. Use a dedicated battery collection pathway.
Do you collect small household quantities?
Send the battery types, quantity and city. We will advise on collection availability or a suitable alternative route.
What should I do with a swollen battery?
Stop using or charging it. Keep it away from heat and combustible materials, avoid puncturing or crushing it, and mention its condition when requesting advice.
Can businesses arrange recurring collections?
Yes, recurring or planned collections can be assessed for workplaces with ongoing battery volumes.
